The name dark continent is a little misleading as it implies its a single continent out there, while in actuality the known world is basically a collective of rocks in a giant pond, surrounded by land (which would be the dark continent). I have read the Manga and watched the anime (1999), and it is certified to the origin. Of HxH, youd think the same, till the dark continent came along.
